This article shows you how to set up twitter as a feed within your facebook business page so users will see your latest tweets without having to go directly to twitter.

1). Save the RSS Feed

Go to search.twitter.com and click on the advanced button. In this section in the ‘From’ field put in the name of the twitter account you want to use for your twitter feed and click on search. This will show you all the tweets from this account. In the right hand corner of this screen you’ll see an option ‘Feed for this query’. Select this option. Now copy the address for this feed in the address bar e.g : http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=+from%3Aianmcleary>>.

2). Install the application

Go to Facebook Business Page and in the bottom left select applications. Search for the application ‘Social RSS’ and add this application to your business page.

3). Configure Settings

In the tabs accross the top of the business page you will see that blog/rss option is now available as a tab. Select this and edit it. This will now allow you to set up feeds for this application. Paste in the URL address of the feed that you have already saved.

Twitter feed in Facebook

Once “update” has been selected a box will automatically be added to your boxes tab on your page. This can be moved to your page “wall” by clicking on the pencil icon and selecting the option to “Move to wall”. If you want to add Social RSS tab to your page go back to your page using the link in the top left corner of this page and select “Edit page”, find Social RSS and click on the pencil icon and select “add tab”.

So now your will have your twitter feed displayed. This application does not just limit you to twitter, why don’t you add your blog in as well? Any other feed worth displaying?

  • http://www.razorcoast.com Ian Cleary

    Hi Kate,

When you select the option to install Social RSS you will see an option called ‘add to page’ on the left hand side of the install page. On this you can select which page you want to install the application on.

This is exactly what I needed to know and it worked!nnhttp://www.facebook.com/PrimeBusinessClubnnThe social RSS app let’s you blend up to five feeds, Twitter or any other RSS, onto a single tab, which is what we wanted. If you say you want 10 items it will give you the most recent two from each. But it also gives you a neat pull-down menu, so people viewing the tab can select to see all 10 items from the feed that most interests them. n
