I hope Monday has started off well for you. I came across some very interesting articles, tools and tips this week. Here’s a few to throw into your diary to have a look at when you get a chance.
1. Google had made available for free the Doubleclick ad planner. If you are considering advertising on websites this gives you some great insight into what sites you should target. For example, try putting in Irishtimes.com and you’ll see what their traffic is like, what visitors also searched for, what their interests are etc. Well worth a look.
2. Facebook this week announced changes to their ‘Like’ buttons which you see all around the web. This is a major change that will have significant impact to you promoting your products and services on the web. An example: if you click on the ‘Like’ button for a particular product then the publisher of this content will be able to update your facebook stream when similar products come up that you’ll be interested in. I’ll keep my eyes on this one as this is not something everybody will be aware of.
3. Oneriot - nice tool for realtime search for the realtime web.
4. Websiteoptimisation.com – a useful tool for measuring the download time of your pages on your webiste.
5. A great article from hubspot about blog lead generation.
6. Tip – If you think you are sending out a blog post at the wrong time (e.g. at the week-end) why don’t you schedule it? If you are using wordpress instead of the publish button you’ll see an option above this which says ‘Publish immediately edit’. If you edit this you can specify when yo want to publish it.
That’s all for me this week. After a really hectic couple of weeks I’m heading down to Cork on Wednesday to play Golf at Old Head. Amazing Golf course and who wants to network online all the time
Any further tips you want to share?
