sharing Here’s some interesting information/articles I came across this week that I thought was worth sharing.

1.  I read an article about a new Facebook application that allows you to phone a person through Facebook using their Facebook id instead of the phone number.  Wow, maybe a world without phone numbers is not too far away.

2. Great article from alllfacebook about how to attract fans from competitor pages to your page, well worth a read.

3. In Facebook there is a very handy tagging feature.  When you are writing a status update on your wall (or business page) you can mention somebodies Facebook id in the update so they get notified in their updates that you mentioned their name.  In a recent change to Facebook you now don’t have to use the ‘@”  sign in front of the user id anymore.

4. Great article by Dan Blank who questions the business models of online sites that are just looking to grow their audience but don’t really have a good revenue model-  Creating interest versus providing solutions.   – http://bit.ly/9OCwNk

5. Interesting article from Scott Gould about the benefits of sharing.  Have a read and you’ll probably share more after reading it! – Understanding value in a share economy – http://bit.ly/bodZ21

6. Mashable – Top 5 social media trends, have a look at what’s coming – http://mashable.com/2010/08/20/top-5-social-media-trends/
